Judy -- What an eloquent and powerful piece! I would think that a number of churches would be willing to listen to you and to speak up for you and Karin, and others in your situation. Aren't there other Metropolitan Community churches in California? And our Unitarian Universalist Association has the Standing on the Side of Love campaign -- a strong voice for LGBT people, for immigrants, for others who have been marginalized. I'm sure some of these would welcome you as a speaker. Lots of good wishes to you!

Beautifully done! (And this compliment -- not sure if you know/knew this -- comes from a preacher!) Thanks for sharing this powerful message in this particular way.

This is only the 2nd time I've heard the explanation about the centurion and his "servant." The first time was about a week ago, in a video done by Kathy Baldock, whom I interviewed for 10,000 Couples' "Someone You MUST Know" (which is also the cover story!) for Sept. Check it out: She -- like you and Karin -- is AMAZING!! http://10thousandcouples.com/issue/september-2012/article/christian-compassion-for-lgbt-people

Love and prayers,

So sorry you weren't there in person. This totally sucks! My wife, legally married in CT last year, is from Ireland. She is here legally on a student visa, has been off and on for the last 9 years, and can't leave because they probably won't let her back in if she does. Last year we missed the wedding of her brother, dd attend the reception, via skype, and just missed their baby girl's christening. Her Mam, other brother and his wife and two boys usually travels to visit us each summer for a few weeks so they get to see Kren at least once a year, but last summer her brother couldn't come because of work and this year the flights were $1400 RT PP so no one could afford the trip. I say ENOUGH already too. There is no reason we should have to be separated from our families like this! We feel your pain.

[...] When people talk about how DOMA (the Defense of Marriage Act) separates families, this is one example. Imagine not being able to attend your son or daughter's wedding because if you left the US - where you live with your wife - you would not be let back in.
Karin and Judy,

It is wonderful and sad that Karin's family put your photos on the chair where you should have been sitting. Beautiful photos though.

Thank you again for all you do for same sex bi-national couples like us.

Hi, Judy & Karin--

LOVE the video!! God bless you both as you wait for GOOD news, and as you seek a sense of peace in the midst of mayhem. The God I believe in is the one who brings order out of chaos -- right from the beginning (Genesis 1) and throughout our lives -- though sometimes it sure seems to take a loooonnnnnnggggg time!!!! Hang in there!
